6 Giorni delle Rose

6 Days of Roses is back
1 – 6 AUGUST 2022 at the Fiorenzuola Velodrome
25th edition of the 6 Days of Roses International, a Uci class 1 race that for a quarter of a century has attracted the best pistard (men and women) on the world scene.

The event was officially presented at the Fiorenzuola Velodrome, with the interventions, among others, of the national track coach Marco Villa, the mayor of Fiorenzuola Romeo Gandolfi and the one who is the „father“ of 6 Days, Claudio Santi.

The formula is substantially unchanged compared to the previous edition: men and women will compete in the same tests, all in Uci class 1 (therefore assigning the maximum score for the rankings that qualify for world championships and Olympics). The specialties will be those of the points race, of the omnium (discipline that will open the event on August 1st), of the scratch, of the elimination and of the madison, for which the final classification will also be valid for the test of the launched lap

Madison and flying tour that therefore go to give life to a single ranking, with the tests that will be repeated for three evenings by women and as many by men. The final of the women’s pairs competition is scheduled for 4 August, the men’s one on 6 August.

One of the novelties of this 25th edition will be the big party scheduled for Thursday 4 August.

A special date for three reasons: on 4 August 1932 Attilio Pavesi (cyclist from Piacenza to whom the Velodrome is named) won the Los Angeles Olympics in the cycling time trial. The same date on which last year the blue quartet made up of Ganna, Lamon, Consonni and Milan (all athletes competing at least once in Fiorenzuola) won gold at the Tokyo Games. And again on August 4, 1998, the first evening of competitions of the very first edition of the 6 Days of Roses took place. This is why the 4th August will be an evening of honor, entitled „Fourth of August, Roses and Gold“.
